What does your day usually look like? Do you run out of the house without breakfast, get a ready-made salad at work, go home in the evening and then eat another ready-made meal in front of the TV?
How about cooking “properly”? So go to the supermarket yourself, buy all the ingredients and then try out your own dish from the recipe book at home and enjoy it afterwards.

Cooking is the perfect activity to switch off after a long day at the office and get back to yourself, because preparing your own food not only creates mindfulness and directs your attention to the quality of the products, but also gives you satisfaction.
In addition, cooking is a real stress killer and has a soothing effect on the mind. Preparing a home-cooked meal – starting with cutting the ingredients, sautéing and stirring them continuously, and ending with arranging and eating them – can be relaxing and, for some people, almost meditative.

To make cooking an experience, it’s important to really take your time beforehand and pick a special dish. What have you always wanted to prepare and then eat? What kitchen equipment do you need to prepare it? Make it clear in advance what you want to cook and buy the ingredients accordingly.
The dish should be something special that you nothing everyday and have a certain degree of difficulty. For example, how about a saltimboca or a saffron risotto?
Of course, you can cook a small appetizer to go with it or else an interesting dessert if you have the ingredients for it in the house.

It’s best to cook the dish not only for yourself, but also for your loved ones. After all, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and what could be more relaxing than enjoying a nice home-cooked meal for two?

No time for fast food

You want to cook yourself something nice, but don’t want to spend a long time in the kitchen? With the right preparation, it’s not hard. You can cut vegetables the night before and store them in a Tupperware container. Buy fresh fish or meat and fry it in a pan.
You can also lightly sauté the vegetables you’ve already cut. While everything is roasting, you can prepare a salad and start dressing.
If you are so strategic, cooking yourself will not only be faster, but also much easier.
You’ll see, with a little bit of preparation in a bit of meal planning throughout the week, you’ll soon run out of time for unhealthy fast food.
