We all know the phrase by now: Cortisol is released in the body as the stress hormone and is part of the adrenaline response to environmental impressions. You probably also know how this feels in your body. Shoulders tighten and breathing becomes rapid and shallow. For most people, this happens so often that you don’t even consciously notice it and can’t get out of this stressful position. This is how many permanent pains arise, which start with a rise in cortisol.

Do something good for yourself.

There are many ways to reduce cortisol in moments of stress, such as meditation or a short walk. Chewing gum can also help in stressful situations, as it sends a signal to the brain that food is being eaten and there is no danger.
Cortisol is a natural hormone that is not bad in itself. It only becomes bad for and in excess. To reduce this excess you can help the body by eating the right food.

Here is a short recipe with many nutrient-rich foods that help work off cortisol:

3tl chia seeds, about 4EL oatmeal, 3eggs, half an apple, two veggies of your choice, onion, some (olive) oil.

-Mix the chia seeds and oatmeal in a small bowl. Dice the apple into small pieces and add it to the mix.
-Add the 3 eggs and stir until it becomes a porridge.

-Now add some salt or optionally peanuts and stir again.

-Place oil in a shallow pan and wait a little until it is at the right temperature.
-Now pour in the porridge and swirl the pan so that the porridge spreads everywhere.
-Wait until the bottom is properly set then turn the side.
-When both sides are cooked through, transfer the omelet to your plate and dice the vegetables and onion.
-Place the vegetables and onion in the same pan and cook until well done.
-Place the vegetables in the center of the omelet and cut the omelet slightly along the diameter. This way you can cut the circle in half.

-Now you should have a kind of tortilla that is full of healthy foods.

Enjoy your meal 😉
